Karen is a potter and founder of this small independent business. Whether it is ‘hugging’ a handcrafted mug of morning coffee or enjoying supper from a beautifully glazed bowl, Karen creates simple ceramics for mindful moments.

The open space, light and ever changing natural environment of Karen’s secluded woodland studio is a continuous source of inspiration - one day sprinkles of sunlight dance on the potter’s wheel as it spins; another the rain ‘plays music’ on the roof as droplets fall from beech tree boughs overhead. A magical place for creativity to unfold.

Throwing clay is wonderfully relaxing; an all encompassing activity transporting the maker to a place where everything blurs and creating in that moment is all that exists. Karen is continually enthralled by the way clay can be transformed by hand into something unique and beautiful.

White stoneware is her canvas of choice, where the simplicity of a glaze can take you on a journey. A rich ocean blue glaze, one of Karen’s favourites, beautifully echoes the hues of the Cornish coast evoking feelings of connection and complete calm.
